What can we cover in a doula consultation?
A consultation can cover pregnancy questions, birth preferences, preparing a birth plan, partner support, comfort options and postpartum planning.
Does a doula replace my midwife or doctor?
No. Doula support is non-medical and complements rather than replaces care from your midwife, doctor or maternity team.
Can my partner join the consultation?
Yes. Your partner or another support person can join if that feels helpful. The conversation can include practical ways they can support you during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.
Are virtual consultations available on the Isle of Man?
Yes. You can meet Bere by video or phone if that is more comfortable or convenient than an in-person consultation.
Do you attend labour or birth in person?
In-person or on-call labour and birth attendance is not automatically included. Start with a personal enquiry and Bere will explain what support may be practical for your circumstances.
