About Blissful Births
Hi there! My name is Bere, and I’m a registered nurse and certified full spectrum doula trained in Australia, currently living on the Island of Guernsey with my husband.
Growing up in the small coastal town of Byron Bay, often referred to as the “hippie” town of Australia, I was surrounded by holistic medicine and healing from a young age.
This upbringing not only shaped my career but also ignited my passion for motherhood, pregnancy, and birth.
I am the youngest of three girls, and my mother’s experiences with childbirth have had a profound impact on my journey.
She often shares the stories of my sisters’ birth, in which she attempted to birth twins naturally at home in 1994…
“Empowering women and families through their journey of pregnancy”
At that time, this was considered unacceptable by hospital standards, and after successfully birthing one twin at home, she went to the hospital where she was thought “crazy” for not having the second twin via c-section.
My mother’s experience with my own birth was healing and empowering, as she felt the power of birthing a baby naturally “in 33 minutes”.
These stories have stayed with me and fuelled my passion for supporting women and families through their unique pregnancy and birth journeys.
Although I don’t have children of my own yet (I don’t think my husband goes a day without hearing about baby, pregnancy, or birth-related topics!), I am extremely passionate about empowering women and families through their journey of pregnancy, birth, and beyond – whatever that may look like for them.
Combining clinical and alternative birthing
As a full-spectrum doula and registered nurse, I believe in the importance of combining modern medicine with alternative therapies, and in supporting each individual’s choices during this special time.
But when you’re looking for a doula, its a maze of webpages and social media profiles. It’s hard to know where to start.
I created Blissful Births doula directory with the goal to help women worldwide to find a vetted doula without spending hours of your valuable time searching.
For the doulas who didn’t have the time, energy or marketing expertise to create their own website, I created Blissful Births as a platform where you can be found easily without needing to lift a finger.
